An Introduction to The 6 Core Needs

Have you noticed that when you go away, you take yourself with you? There's an emotional side to absolutely everything we do. A huge part of the reason that we do this, is that our behaviour is a vehicle to meet our needs. Our behaviour naturally attempts to find happiness and fulfillment, and is driven by 6 core needs.

These needs describe why we do what we do, and how come we don't do what we know would be for our highest good (ouch!)

Have you reached that unavoidable moment in the journey of every Coach when it's time to getting clear on precisely what it is that you'll offer your clients, in the form of your Packages? Or are you looking to improve what you offer to attract more Clients and to reflect more closely what it is that you offer? Package creation or overhaul can seem an impossibly daunting task. At least once a fortnight I receive emails or phone calls just like this one:

"Help! I'm in a complete fog with this. I'm confused. I don't know where to go with these packages; I've got to have them. I've got to have them on my website. I've got to have them in my marketing material. I've got to have them in order to sell, and it's a crucial cornerstone to my business. Please take a look at my packages and let me know what you think."

The 11 Keys every Coach must know to Get from Freaked Out to Focused - Fast! (aka Mastering Overwhelm)

The place: the transit lounge Tiger Airways, Melbourne, The time: a snip after sun-up. I waited to board the plane for the Sunshine Coast having spent a turbo-charged couple of days at The Coaching Institute. I watched, taking in the crowd. Most were school leavers celebrating new found freedom and off to the coast for fun in the sun. Not All. Two people caught my attention:  The first, – a trendy guy, late twenties, with a crew cut, black suit, black apple mac (you know the type). The second, a young mum with three kids under five clinched in a rowdy tangle of bags, half eaten muffins, trailing ... stuff. What they shared, Mr Cute and Ms Mama was the O-Zone: They were both doing hand trembling, head spinning, heart pounding overwhelm! I thought of how we all do it at times, and how fabulous it would be if I spent the flight analysing how to cruise from freaked out to focused!
